Boar-Gertler-Gilchrist-Midrigan-Peter Macro Reading Group

19 W 4th St., Room 736

What to expect if you are presenting, and a few things that make the hour work better for everyone.

The format

Sessions run Wednesdays, 12:15–1:15 p.m. in 19 W 4th St., Room 736. You present a recent working paper, or your own work in progress. Plan for roughly 40 minutes of material: the room asks questions throughout, and a talk built to fill the full hour will not finish.

Guidance

A rough shape that works

Slides

Send your slides to the organizer after the session and they will be posted here alongside the paper. If you would rather they were not posted, just say so and they will not be.

Presenting your own work

Encouraged. The group is a good low-stakes audience for a job-market paper or a third-year paper, and several past sessions have been exactly that.
